Some V-Day advice…hmm…
January 19, 2010
| This morning, I received a note in my Inbox from new dating site PSXOXO, the site brought to you by Bravo’s Millionaire Matchmaker Patti Stanger. I’m always curious about dating advice that’s out there…and this one pertains to Valentine’s Day. Have a look:

It’s love day…but don’t give a guy more than he gives you. Let him tip the balance. |
|

If you’re single, don’t feel the pressure of Valentine’s Day. Go out with the girls…if you meet a guy that night, you can bet he’s single too! REALLY single! |
|
|
|
#3. |
Do NOT put pressure on the guy to make the day romantic. If he buys you flowers that’s good enough! |
|
|
|
#4. |
Romance goes both ways…remember to be appreciative, affectionate and attentive! |
|

If you’re single on Valentine’s Day with no “Secret Admirer” flowers waiting on your doorstep, don’t mope; look at it as the start of a New Year’s resolution for your love life – as Michael Buble says, “I Just Haven’t Met You Yet.” |

Valentine’s Day is not just for lovers, give a gift to a co-worker or friend and show them you care! By paying it forward you’re bringing good love energy back to yourself. |

First Valentine’s Day together in a new relationship? Don’t get drunk! You want to be sure that you can cherish the memory of the special occasion! |

Chocolate is an aphrodisiac, so don’t forget to splurge on the Godiva! |

Valentine’s Day is not just a Hallmark Card holiday. MAKE IT SPECIAL! |
|
Now, she brings up a good point about going out on V-Day if you’re single. Chances are, you won’t meet any liars who are married but claim they’re single…you’ll meet REAL singles. How nice! I also like her advice to not put pressure on the guy and to let him be romantic in his own way. And don’t laugh at his gift, no matter what.
Where I tend to disagree—umm, cringe—is when she says offer your single friends online dating subscriptions. The last thing I would want to get from a friend who’s partnered up is a gift that says “get yourself a good man—I’ll pay for it”. A blind date is one thing, but a dating membership is kind of like saying “I don’t want to introduce you to any of my friends, but maybe some online stranger will find you attractive”. I don’t know…that would suck.
I want to say a special thanks to all of my friends for NEVER, EVER doing this for me. You rock.
Any other V-Day advice you’d like to give? Thanks for the feedback!

Haha great tips. Except for the advert, which you pointed out. I will not appreciate that kind of “gift.”
V-day advice is great, thank you for the help. But I’m looking for some V-jay jay advice. Would he like a landing strip, or should I go bald? Maybe just a little puff?
Hey Betty,
Like your blog. I say go bald, because life is short. Enjoy!
Dear Friends, Happy Valentines Day!!!
